How is SEO pricing determined?:
SEO is not really difficult or expensive, but it can be time consuming and people place different values on their time. Some SEO companies may also take into account what each client might gain from a great SEO experience and charge accordingly, and I suggest this is right and proper. Some SEO companies have large overheads, and if you are a business, you will realise the significance this has on pricing.
I place a very high value on my time, but have little or zero overheads because I am semi retired. The down side of this is 'you may find it difficult to reach me as I holiday LOTS'!

How did your competition get so high the search engines?:
There could be many reason for this. But face the fact that SEO is a lottery, and you have to be in it - to win it.
Others just fall on their feet whatever they do, the rest of us have to create our own luck.  I often wonder 'How did they get a first place in Google with rubbish like that', and sometimes I cannot answer that question. But with SEO in your website, you do at least stack the cards in your favour.

SEO cons and fake guarantees:
The SEO industry is riddled with websites making exaggerated claims and expectations. 
Many SEO companies will make ridiculous statements like "Guaranteed number 1 position in Google" or that they have a special relationship with Google!! Google actually says on it's website that 'NO-ONE can guarantee any listing in Google', and that no-one has a 'special relationship'. See what Google says here.

Free Keyword Check:
Before you begin spending your 'hard earned' with someone you don't know or never met. You should first get a taster of their SEO skills & service. You should also try to speak with them personally or at least some of their clients. You may not be performing as badly in the search engines as you first think!  You might only require my free 'DIY Guide to SEO' instead.

I get emails every day asking me that. SEO is more about having a flair, it is nothing to do with science. 
Most of my SEO work is based on instinct and intuition. It's a bit like any sport - you either have a natural ability or you don't. The basics can be taught, but the flair or instinct cannot.
Yes I do have one or two of 'my own' tricks, but they are legal and honest which took me years to develop, so I am not willing to give them away for others to exploit and profit from?

Even after reading the above, I still receive many emails asking us "Can you guarantee a top ten listing in Google"?  I always say my results are only as good as our last clients positions, and I cannot predict the future. I always insist they check my results, and not to accept me at face value alone. You are free to telephone my clients and ask them what we did for them. But you must remember I never EVER make promises or predictions and my clients will also tell you that was their understanding.
